BREATH public engagement work with schools continues ‘virtually’ during current pandemic.

The recent ‘virtual’ visit by students Mark Thomas and Kimberly Black to Girvan Academy featured in the winter edition of the Ayrshire Chamber Magazine.

The BREATH Team joined a session setup by Developing the Young Workforce Ayrshire to explain to N5 pupils the value of lab skills in their research on COPD.  The teacher Stephen Lam commented on the enthusiasm of the presenters for their research, and explained what a good experience it had been for the pupils.

To provide industry-focused training, 17 PhD students fromBREATH were invited to the Brentford and Stevenage GSK sites for a 2day visit. They formed part of a larger BREATH team of 35 scientists from the Dundalk Institute of Technology, Queen’s University Belfast and the University of the West of Scotland.
