BREATH Success: QUB PhD student Stephen Carson successfully defends thesis at viva

Stephen Carson undertook his viva voce examination on the 25th May, defending a doctoral thesis entitled: An Investigation of the Response of Airway Epithelial Cells to Pathogens Associated with Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD).

His examiners included external, Professor James Chalmers (The University of Dundee, Scotland) and Dr Deirdre Gilpin (Internal, School of Pharmacy, QUB).

Congratulations Dr Carson – and well done to the supervisory team, led by Professor Lorraine Martin.
