BREATH Success: UWS PhD student Kimberly Black successfully defends thesis at viva

Kimberly Black successfully undertook her viva voce examination on the 20th June, the final day of her COVID isolation, defending a doctoral thesis entitled: Elucidating the role of PAR2 in bronchial smooth muscle in COPD.

Her examiners included external, Dr Yvonne Dempsie from Glasgow Caledonian University and Dr John McLean (UWS).

Congratulations Dr Black – and well done to the supervisory team, led by Dr Gary Litherland and including Dr Andrew MacKenzie and Prof John Lockhart.
